Meet Joe Redington Jr., world renown sled dog racer and his wife Pam. They will guide you on a tour of their kennel, sharing their knowledge about dogs, equipment, sleds and strategy. They will describe their subsistence lifestyle: fishing, gardening, hunting and mushing.

Joe Jr. has been a commercial fisherman since 1959. He has fished in the Cook Inlet, Norton Sound, Bristol Bay, Tanana and Yukon Rivers, using net and fish wheel.

Getting Here

Manley Hot Springs is located about 154 miles from Fairbanks and is accessible via the road system.

From Fairbanks take the Steese Highway North for almost 10 miles. Then take the Elliott Highway North for 51 miles, turn left on the non-paved road. From here it is 80 miles to Manley Hot Springs. We are located on Tofty road. On Tofty road turn Right. Follow the road we are about 1/2 miles and we are on the left.
